I love green. I have green eyes, my skin tone looks great when I wear green. Grass, trees, and life is green. Christmas is even partially green!
So, I have been trying to get a green room in my home. I bought a five gallon bucket of green paint a while back. Now, 1/3 of my computer room/office/playroom is a pale mint green! YAY! No one in my family agrees with my green obsession. Well, other than my grandson.
My grandson? Oh, he's away with his mom for Spring Break. When he gets back, he'll see that the computer/TV side of the large room is green. I am hoping I can get the whole thing done before the week is out. I have a paint sprayer, so it is going pretty quickly.
Time's not that big a deal. I have time.
Next is a floor that compliments the color of the walls.... Maybe some vinyl tile? Maybe green?
I look forward to a happy, yet soothing, green office space to enjoy time making jewelry and working on my home based businesses.
Green is good...

Nothing feels better than getting your stuff together where you can find it once and for all.
Organization and I live together in a battle of the fittest. I love being organized but I seem to never ever have the storage and facilities available to make it happen. Well, I've begun the process of making things happen properly and completely.

I buy storage bins when I can and put up shelves and book casesfor those bins. I should get a bigger desk so I can put some trays on it to keep my "to do" paperwork together.
Drawers and doors should become more organized as well. I have hanging folders and when I get the files alphabetized I will be in even more organized space.
Then, I will begin working on my new business.
Organization is the key to staying sane in the busiest world that I've built for myself. If you try a little organization for yourself you may be able to find the time and space you need by just buying some trays, bins, or bookcases.
Good luck to you. I'm well on my way! Spring Cleaning is my optimum week for work.... Let's all get to it!

Today is a fun day. There are only a few days left until Spring Break!!!
You can either spend your entire vacation doing yard work, housework, and spring cleaning or you can make your break from the regular grind by spending time with your childeren. You could read books together, you could act out a homemade play, or you could make something in the kitchen.
Happiness comes in the smallest of packages and the shortest of quality time.
Have you thought about a movie night? A time when you could just put all the cares of the world behind you and spend a little time with your children enjoying some Disney classics.
Give it a try. Nothing is wrong with sharing fun, laughter, and childhood memories with your young ones.
My kids thought I was the most awesome mom on the planet because it seemed I knew every word to every song on every Disney classic movie that was ever written. Of course, I padded the results by choosing movies I knew the songs to, but it was fun to be able to dance around and sing with a new generation of Disney fans.
Give it a try!!

Today's craft, that was forced upon me by my beautiful, yet very persuasive, granddaughters was an Easter craft. Every day they visit, we do a craft.
Our craft was taking pink, yellow, and lavendar pastel paper, cutting out different colors of flowers, and attaching them to another piece of pastel paper with glue sticks. Then we drew stems, and leaves.
On the paper pictures we have balloons and colorful leaves, and pretty pastel flowers.
It is fun to do the crafts. I can't hardly wait to see what a 4 and 5 year old will have me do on Thursday!
Every day is happy time with my grand children!!

Today the new kittens our cat had a month ago decided to become adventurous. They now climb and they tumble.
How a tiny little cat can have six kittens and survive is beyond me. Fortunately, all the kitties are alive and kicking, even with one almost not making it. Poor cat had so many that one newborn wandered away right after being born. I washed the little thing off and gave him back to his mommy.
Now the kittens are ready to give to other loving homes. We just cannot have eight felines in our home.
But they are the cutest things. They climb, they tumble, they play, and they purr. What could someone ask for more of?
Kitties are so cute!!!

Today I started tutoring third graders. At one point, a particular student decided that she was not happy and would give me a dirty look. I told her that she would not hurt me by looking at me all mean like that. She kept looking at me that way.
So, I stood my ground, crossed my arms, and returned my own dirty look back at her. It was about fifteen seconds before she broke into a beautiful bright smile that lit up the room.
When you are confronted with a child who does not like what you are doing, if you play into her hands, you are likely to lose the war. Let them win the tiny little battle and get them to smile. It will make you both happier.
I can tell you that I have not had such a fulfilling day in a very long time. The children I have the pleasure of helping are helping me as well. When you see the look of understanding in a child's face, it makes all the difference in the world!

Awesome is having a child drag his feet into a classroom, and decide before he even gives the class a try that it is going to be a drag, then after he gets into the program, he finds out that it is a whole lot of fun.
Awesome is looking at handwriting from a child and being able to read it.
Awesome is seeing a small child successfully glue together various sizes of hearts to make a cute little Valentines Day mouse, even if it was supposed to be a cat.
Awesome comes in small packages. Go find yourself some awesome today and share what you found!

There cannot be anything to compare with having fun with your grandchildren.
Today, February 7, 2012, we started making Valentines Day Cards for my daughter's pre-K class. We cut out rectangles, and circles, and hearts, and glued them together.. It is so much fun!
Giggling kiddies and fun craft time is always a pleasure.
I love when my grand daughters come to visit!!
